In March 2011, I moved to Poland to join my husband who has been working here with the Polish Air Force. We're enjoying this adventure, and I'm constantly surprised by the new foods and recipes I'm coming across. A visit to a Polish grocery store is like going to a food museum with a great gift shop.
My husband's work has always had us living in different places, tasting foods that were different than our mothers cooked. That ignited a passion and curiosity about food. We seemed to go through phases - Spanish, Cajun, fancy cakes - depending on the latest cookbook to enter our home.
Cooking, especially baking, for family and friends has always been a source of joy. It's an expression of love, a way to say I care about you and hope you enjoy our time together.
